Agnes Rozella (Chandler) Cooper, 102, died April 20, 2018 at Phillipsburg, Kansas. She was born November 13, 1915 in Osborne County, Kansas to Charles N. and Emma (Stevens) Chandler.
She grew up on the Stevens homestead in Osborne County, KS and graduated from Osborne High School with the class of 1934. She married Forrest Dean Cooper on February 21, 1937 and celebrated 65 years of marriage.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest; parents; daughter-in-law, Patricia Gastrock Cooper; sisters, Ruby Booth, Aletha Adams, Mary Moore, and Emma (Millie) Clausen; and brothers, Steven, Warren, Calvin, Joseph, and Wilbur Chandler.
She is survived by two sons, Anthony Bruce Cooper, Topeka, KS, and companion Jane Golub, Stilwell, KS, and Brace Cooper and wife Linda, Lenexa, KS; her daughter, Lesley Schonthaler and husband Lee, Zurich, KS; grandsons, Kevin Cooper, Kyle Cooper, Spencer Cooper, and Blake Schonthaler; granddaughters, Sue Forbes and Jennifer Horn; thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was a faithful and active member of the Phillipsburg United Presbyterian Church and New Wine Bible Study Group, Orleans, NE. A highlight of her faith journey was traveling to Israel when she was 92 with members of her Bible study group. She was an avid fan of Kansas Jayhawk basketball and did not miss watching the games. Agnes was a homemaker, an excellent seamstress, and loved to grow irises in her garden. She was a member of the Pleiades Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
Cremation was chosen. Memorial services will be held April 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., at the United Presbyterian Church, Phillipsburg, KS with Pastor Chris Davis officiating. Inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg, KS after the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Phillipsburg United Presbyterian Church.
