Logan, KS resident, Alvin Duane Leach passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Logan Manor in Logan, KS at the age of 86.
He was born January 5, 1937 in Culbertson, NE the son of Theodore Emery and Beela Gertrude (Benjamin) Leach. He attended school in McCook, NE.
Alvin kept busy. He worked for many packing houses in McCook, NE, Fort Morgan, CO, and Denver, CO.
In 1969, while in Denver, he joined the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He moved to Fort Collins, CO and owned a motel, gas station, and a trailer court. While there he became an Elder in the Church. He eventually sold the motel and purchased an equestrian center and did a little farming.
For health reasons he moved to Logan, KS to be near family.
He is survived by his four children: daughters Penny Dottavio of Denver, CO; Honey Kibbee of Phillipsburg, KS, and Pat Leach of Greeley, CO; a son Dennis Leach of Denver, CO; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren; a brother Ron Leach of Burlington, CO; and a sister Trudy Brown of Limon, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Malcolm and Gordon; and a granddaughter Randi.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2023 in the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Phillipsburg, KS. The services will be streamed live on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page. Graveside services will be held at the Simla Cemetery, Simla, CO at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2023. Graveside services arranged by the Love Funeral Home in Limon, CO.
