Berneda was born and raised on a farm south of Bogue, KS. Being one of the oldest, she was responsible for helping with outside chores such as milking cows, feeding, etc.
She told stories of the "Dirty 30's" with all the dust on window sills. Their refridgeration for food during the summer months was a cave lined with blocks of ice they harvested from the pond and straw for insulation.

She attended grade school at a nearby country school and graduated from Bogue High School. There she made a lifelong friend, Nola Frazey. She would tell a story of when she was in high school , her best friend Nola was salutatorian and she was valedictorian. The joke was, they were the only two in their graduating class.

Friends and family perceived Berneda as being a beautiful, poised and graceful woman. She was a devoted wife and dedicated mother. She made it a point to teach her children life skills such as sewing, cooking and gardening. Her patience and kindness showed in everything she did. She was always neatly groomed and her home was impeccably clean and organized.

Berneda was a very religious woman, she attended the Catholic Church in Logan on a regular basis.

One of the highlights in her life, was the time shared with her sixteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.

She is loved and will be missed dearly by all.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Logan, KS with Pastor Ted Stapleton officiating.

Berneda will lie in state on Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Logan Funeral Home, 102 E. Church Street, Logan, KS 67646 with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. that evening.
