Obituary

Clara Bernettia "Bert" (Sherling) Follis was the 4th daughter born to Jess W. and Myrtle E. (Power) Sherling August 27, 1932 in Kirwin, KS.  With her family, she moved to Phillipsburg where she lived to womanhood.

Bernettia went through all 12 grades in Phillipsburg graduating in 1951.  She graduated from Beauty School in December 1951 and worked in the business for 25 years.

She married Norman C. Follis on August 29, 1954 in Phillipsburg and to this union was born 2 daughters, Menta Kay and Marcia Ann.

Bernettia worked in her church teaching Sunday school, Youth Group, and Christian Women Fellowship.  She also worked with the Blue Birds Campfire Girls, Jobs Daughters, American Legions Auxiliary, and Club Room Secretary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Marcia Billeter; 3 sisters:  Ella Beth Gibson, Ada Jean Tomlinson, and Virginia Hooper; and two brothers: Jess Eugene and Baby William Sherling.

That leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 70 years Norman of Phillipsburg; daughter Menta Macy and husband Don of Owatonna, MN; six grandchildren: Erik Macy and wife Sadie, Tiffany (Macy) Hunt and husband Karl, Lindsay Macy; Logan Edwards, Cole Billeter, and Chas Billeter and wife Larissa; ten great grandchildren:  Jacob Macy and wife MyKala, MaKenzie Robertson, Morgan Macy, Wyatt Macy, Brielle Hunt-Macy, Braden Hunt-Macy, Bentley Hunt-Macy, Austin Belleter, Elise Billeter, and Ellison Billeter; five great great grandchildren: Leliana and Kiera Macy and  Mara, Scarlett, and Averie Eberling.

Cremation was planned.  A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2024 at the First Christian Church, Phillipsburg, with Pastor LeRoy Herder officiating.  Inurnment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church.
