Bonnie Lee Rosenberg was the third child born to Roy William Fleming and Beulah Charlotte Hopper Fleming on May 27th, 1925 in Beaver City, Nebraska. She joined her heavenly family on Friday September 17, 2010.
Bonnie attended all twelve years of school in Beaver City, graduating in 1943. Upon graduation Bonnie worked at the Horton Drugstore. Throughout the years she always enjoyed trips back to Horton's with her family where they all enjoyed the old fashioned soda fountain. Bonnie also worked at Watson's Clothing Store as a clerk.
Bonnie was united in marriage to Elven Finley Rosenberg on November 28, 1945 in Yakima, Washington. To this union five children were born, Dianne, Sheryl, David, Vonnie, and Zona.
Bonnie loved to work and her endeavors led her down many paths. Bonnie enjoyed Tupperware parties, Beeline Clothing parties, and selling Avon. For several years she worked as an assistant cook in the Phillipsburg and Agra School systems. Bonnie enjoyed working with Elven as custodians in the Alton and Phillipsburg school systems. Bonnie's love for clothing was highlighted with the opportunity to work at Mode-O-Day clothing store in Phillipsburg. Bonnie and Elven partnered up again when they purchased the Panther Drive Inn in Phillipsburg. To complete their years in the work force they purchased the E @ M Café where they worked together for 11 years. At one time or another over these 11 years all five of their children worked with them at the E @ M café.
Bonnie and her family attended the Pleasant Green Assembly of God Church for many years until the family settled in Phillipsburg. She was a member of the First Assembly of God church in Phillipsburg. She was baptized on October 28, 1979. She served as president of Women's Ministries for many years. She also served as treasurer. She was proud of the many hours she spent in compiling pictures and stories for scrapbooks for the Women's Ministries. God, family, and friends were the most important parts in Bonnie's life.
Elven and Bonnie loved to travel. She often recalled many family trips that were taken with the children. Bonnie and Elven loved to jump into their RV and travel with family. They boasted of being in all 50 states. The trip that Bonnie treasured the most was a trip to The Holy Land with her sister-in-law, Ruby.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Beulah and Roy, three brothers Gene, Cecil, and Merle, her beloved husband Elven, youngest daughter Zona, son David, grandson Kenny Morgan, grandson Kenneth Ukele, granddaughter Krystal Ukele, and great grandson Skyler Morgan.
Survivors include Dianne Kennedy and husband Dick, Phillipsburg, Sheryl Gillette and husband Craig, Phillipsburg, and Vonnie Younts and husband Wayne, Phillipsburg. Bonnie has been blessed with 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandson. She will be greatly missed by her family and a multitude of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Darrell Schmid & Pastor David Pugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Agra Cemetery, Agra, Kansas.
Bonnie will lie in state from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.
