IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bradley Jay
Schemper
August 13, 1959 – December 24, 2022
Bradley Jay Schemper was born August 13th, 1959 to Jan and Eileen Schemper (Stutterheim) at the Norton County Hospital. He passed away December 24th, 2022 at his home on the family farm at the age of 63, following his battle with cancer.
Brad grew up on the family farm. In his younger years, he lived a year and a half in Wichita with his family, where he attended a special school, then returned home to complete school at Logan. For six years, he was a proud team manager for the Logan Trojan football team, and later graduated from Logan High School in 1979. Over the years, Brad worked on the family farm helping his mom and dad as a farm and ranch hand. He spent many days checking cattle, water, fence, etc., always making sure the animals were well taken care of. He was so strong and worked hard in all he did. He was always willing to help friends and neighbors when they needed an extra hand. For many years, he also faithfully worked at the Phillipsburg Sale Barn and the Norton Sale Barn, always enjoying his time there, working with and seeing many friends.
One of Brad's greatest joys was his family & friends. He always enjoyed spending time with those he loved, lighting up the room with his contagious big smile. Brad also had a great love for sports. He was a faithful follower to his Kansas Jayhawks, his Kansas City Chiefs, any sport his family or friends were playing, whether they were for Logan or Phillipsburg, and always the biggest fan for his Logan Trojans. Brad spent many hours cheering from the gymnasiums and football fields all across the country, covering many miles, as the kids' best supporter. Brad also loved the Rodeo and looked forward to attending the Phillipsburg Rodeo every year, as a good opportunity to spend time with his family and friends.
Brad was baptized at the Prairie View Reformed Church, then later baptized again and became a member at the First Christian Church of Logan, Kansas.
Brad is survived by his parents, Jan and Eileen Schemper of Prairie View, KS; Brother, Josh Schemper and wife Elizabeth of Prairie View, KS; Sisters, Joy Prendergast and husband Richard of Salina, KS; Nancy Molzahn and husband Douglas of Agra, KS; and Jodi Bretz and husband Mark of Prairie View, KS, along with 18 nieces and nephews, 20 great nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Brad was preceeded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Wauneta Schemper; and Nick and Nina Stutterheim; and niece Chassidy Breese.
