Brian Richard Allison was born to Orlis (Red) Allison and Norma (Hunt) Allison ON May 4, 1958 at the Phillips County Hospital. He departed this earthly life on July 11, 2013 at the Hays Medical Center following a brief illness. Brian is a lifelong resident of Phillips County.
Brian graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1976 and attended Colby Community College. He graduated from Fort Hays State University at Hays, Kansas with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism. He had a great interest in Theology and constantly read about the subject.
An avid sports fan, Brian enjoyed playing fantasy football with his friends. He was one of the most avid Kansas University Jayhawk basketball fans in the county. One of his most prized possessions was a personal autograph from Roy Williams, the KU basketball coach.
Brian led a quiet life and became disabled a few years ago when he suffered a mild stroke which left him with an unusable left arm and with extremely poor vision. He was very devoted to his mother and father and helped care for them as they grew older.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents Orlis and Norma Allison.
Left to mourn his loss is one brother, Rick Allison and wife Katha of El Paso, TX and two nieces Brandi (Allison) Gurrola of El Paso, TX and Rikki (Allison) Osegada of Austin, TX and one nephew Aaron Allison and wife Erin of Humble, TX. An Uncle Paul Hunt and wife Donna of Phillipsburg and cousins. He has four great nephews all living in Texas.
Cremation is planned, graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 16 at 10:00 a.m. in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Gary Davison officiating.
Friends may sign the book from noon to 9:00 p.m. Sunday and from noon till 5:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the United Methodist Church.
