Phillips County resident, Carol Anne Fischer was born May 24, 1958 in Washington, KS the daughter of Dale and Clara (Spence)  Miller, Clay Center, KS.  She departed her life on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Kearney Regional Medical Center, Kearney, NE at the age of 63 due to heart failure.

Raised in Clay Center, KS she graduated high school being the 1 ^st girl in FFA.

Marrying Jerry Fischer on May 15, 1982 at the United Wesleyan Church in rural Phillips County, KS, she spent most of her life North of Phillipsburg on a farm raising horses, cats, calves, and dogs.  She loved her critters.  She worked at the local sale barns in Phillipsburg, Alma, and Franklin, and also dispatched for the Phillipsburg and Alma Sheriff offices.  Carol grew to know most area people.  She also grew to know the hills real well while she was staking terraces for the FSA.

Carol was the founding member of the Phillipsburg Rodeo Queen Committee, helping crown many local girls.

Those left to mourn her passing include her husband Jerry of rural Phillipsburg; son Brandon and wife Tara of Alma, NE; grandchildren Colten and Ashlyn; her father Dale Miller of Washington, KS; brother Clyde Miller and wife Patty of Salina, KS; 2 nephews, Shane and Scott Miller; her niece, Sara Miller and many many friends.

Carol was known for her feistiness, yet good sense of humor for life.  Carol put up a battle til' the end.  She enjoyed seeing others happy by being there for them in their time of need.   Her tireless devotion to family, friends, and her critters will be greatly missed by everyone.  Truly, she was an amazing woman

Cremation was planned.  A memorial service will be held Thursday, Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jay Brandon officiating. The services will be streamed live on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page .

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Phillipsburg Rodeo Queen Contest.
