IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cindy
George
December 16, 1957 – May 10, 2024
Cindy George was born in Pueblo, Colorado on December 16, 1957 to Sidney and Joan McCarty.
John & Cindy were married at Colorado Springs, CO. on August 18, 1979. To this union was born, Elizabeth and Nathaniel. Nathaniel passed away September 2, 2018.
Cindy had a great love for babies, children, and learning. She was happiest when she was teaching homeschool, taking care of her family, and making the home an inviting place for all who visited. She was a great cook, and hosted many holiday meals for her family. Because of her talent and dedication to her family, she enabled her husband to successfully pursue his career and ability to provide for the family.
Vacation Bible School was one of Cindy's passions. She taught classes during VBS and also directed VBS for several years, including one year when the VBS had live animals, including a donkey, sheep and camels.
She never gave up on learning after graduating both high school and college with honors. Her degrees in Religious Education and Home Economics enabled her to carry in-depth conversations on many subjects, including politics, economics, and especially theology.
Isaiah 43:1-3a (ESV)
43. But now thus says the Lord,
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
2. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
3. For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
She is survived by her husband John George, Daughter Elizabeth (George) Hall, grandson Ian Hall, granddaughter Mira Hall, brother Brad McCarty, sisters Pam (McCarty) Worthington, Cheryl (McCarty) Sleman, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and other cousins.
