Clarence Leslie Winters was born May 21, 1953, in Stockton, KS, to Thelma (James) and William (Bill) Winters. Clarence passed away on August 9, 2026, at the age of 73 at the Logan Manor. He was a longtime resident of Phillipsburg, KS.

Clarence attended Vo-Tech in Beloit, KS, where he completed the welding program. He worked at a tractor shop for a year and a half. He moved to Phillipsburg where he worked for Tamko for approximately 25 years. Clarence and Peggy Sue Poague married November 11, 1975. To this union five children were born: Rebecka, Clarence Leslie, La Randa, Clinton, and Courtney. The couple divorced in 1999.

The children's memories of their dad include: his famous no bake cookies, fishing trips, two trips to Wyoming, and many trips to Kansas City.

In his more recent years, Clarence was moved into the Logan Manor in Logan, KS. It was there that his niece, Angela Kuhlmann, gave her uncle special care.

Survivors include: daughters, Rebecka and husband Bernard Wetzel of Charlotte, NC, Randi and husband Brandon Thummel of Phillipsburg, and Courtney and partner Justin Bandt of Phillipsburg, and son Clinton Winters of Phillipsburg. Grandchildren are Jayden Renner, Carson and Brooklyn Beckman, Izzy Wetzel, Isaac Conway, Dominic Thummel, Haven, Kaylen, and Peyton Winters, Ricky and Sophia Bandt. Great-grandchildren include Maevery, Maddyn and Maxsten Renner and Leslie Thummel; sister-in-law Cathy Winters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Billy and Leon, and a son Leslie Winters.

Ecclesiastes 3: 1-2: There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens; a time to be born and a time to die; vs. 4: A time to weep and a time to laugh.

It's now time to remember a dad and granddad!

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, in Phillipsburg, Kansas, with Pastor Scott Eller officiating.

Friends and relatives may sign the book on Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, in Phillipsburg.
