Cynthia (Cindy) Diann Gano Kelley, 67 years old, Phillipsburg, passed away on December 7, 2019 at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville, KS. Cindy was born on December 14, 1951 in Hays, KS to Gerald and Donna (Lively) Gano. She grew up on a farm southwest of Hill City, KS until high school when the family moved into town. Cindy attended school in Hill City and that is where she met the love of her life, Jim Kelley.
On March 9, 1973, Jim and Cindy were married at the Wesleyan Church in Phillipsburg, KS. They had three children; Michele, Donna and Jason. Cindy was a homemaker and a caregiver, always doing for others. She loved to bake and everyone loved her cherry pies.
Cindy was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Phllipsburg. She is survived by her husband, Jim and daughter Donna Kelley of Phillipsburg, KS, a son, Jason Kelley of Hays, KS, her father, Gerald Gano of Hill City, KS, two sisters, Barbara Alexander and husband Jim of Russell, KS and Brenda Johnson and her companion, Ernie Ketzner of Bird City, KS. She is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Michele and her mother, Donna Gano.
Funeral services will be held Wed. Dec. 11 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Assembly of God Church, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Dennis Haarer officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Hill City Cemetery, Hill City.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 Monday & 9:00 to 9:00 Tuesday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel with the family receiving friends from 7:00 to 8:00 Tuesday evening.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
