Daniel Ray Pakkebier, son of Henry & Marie (VanDerVeen) Pakkebier, was born May 26, 1960 in Phillipsburg, KS. He passed away January 15, 2017 at the Norton County Hospital, Norton, KS at the age of 56.
He grew up in Prairie View, KS and graduated from Logan High School with the Class of 1978. After graduation, Danny went to work in the oil fields, he then went back to work on the family farm.
On April 9, 1988, he was united in marriage to Jeanette Portenier at the Methodist Church in Phillipsburg. The couple made their home on a farm near Densmore, KS.
Danny loved to hunt, train his dogs & drive around looking at wildlife. He thought the world of his nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his oldest brother Ronald; his father, Henry; his father-in-law, Dean Portenier; and his brother-in-law, Jerry Cox.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette of the home; his mother, Marie, of Densmore; 3 brothers: Larry, Kenneth & wife, Becky, and Harvey & wife, Sandra, all of Densmore; his sister, Sandra VanKooten & husband, Roger of Phillipsburg; his mother –in-law, Sandra Portenier of Phillipsburg; 2 sisters-in-law, Deb Cox of Palmyra, NE and DiRae Boyd & husband, Brent of Speed, KS; his brother-in-law, Kent Portenier & wife, Tamra of Kirwin, KS; numerous nieces & nephews and great-nieces & nephews.

Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 20 at 2:30 p.m. in the Luctor Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Aaron Rust officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Prairie View Cemetery.

Friends may sign the book from 9:00 to 9:00 Thursday at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
