Phillips County Resident, David D. Dunning, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg at the age of 76.
He was born December 21, 1936 in Webster, KS the son of Ray E. & Lula (Folsom) Dunning. He served in the US Army until 1965, and then was a member of the National Guard until 1976.
He was united in marriage to Karen K. Wheaton on May 3, 1957 at the United Methodist Church in Phillipsburg.
David worked at various jobs until he began working at Tamko in Phillipsburg, retiring in 1982 following 20 years of employment. Following retirement he enjoyed reading, hunting and most of all, his dog, Bo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Loren Dunning.
Survivors include his wife, Karen of the home; brothers, Duane & wife, Marilyn and Lyle & wife, Nancy, all of Plainville; Merl & wife, Nita of Stockton; and Alan & wife, Lila of Chanute; and a sister, Nola Bump & husband, Jerry of Hays, KS.
Cremation was planned. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
