Still
October 3, 1939 – February 21, 2019
Della Frances (Wilson) Still, daughter of Delbert and Roberta (Duffy) Wilson, was born October 3, 1939 in Lexington, Nebraska.
She spent her childhood in towns throughout Nebraska as her father worked construction.
Della and her family moved to Kirwin, Kansas where she attended her senior year of high school and graduated with the class of 1957. It was in Kirwin where she met the love of her life and on January 12, 1958, she was united in marriage to Billy Francis Still in the Kirwin United Methodist Church. Bill was her best friend and lifelong soul mate. They were blessed with two children, Sheri Frances and Brent Francis.
Bill and Della made their home on the farm southeast of Phillipsburg for 47 years. Della was a homemaker and felt blessed to be a farm wife and raise her children in the country. Her family was extremely important to her. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren. Della was caring and loving and happiest when she was with family and friends. She enjoyed family vacations, baking and cooking, country music, and studying genealogy.
In May, 2005, Bill and Della moved from their farm into Phillipsburg. During retirement they enjoyed traveling and spending their winters together in Texas. Della was a member of the United Methodist Church and a 61-year member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Bill preceded her in death on December 27, 2013 and Della never stopped missing him from that day forward. She passed away at her home in Phillipsburg, Kansas on February 21, 2019, finally able to join her beloved husband in heaven.
Della will forever hold a special place in the hearts of her family and many friends.
In addition to her husband, Bill, she was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Roberta Wilson.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheri & husband, David Corrick, Wichita, KS; her son, Brent Still & wife, Vesta Jo, Phillipsburg, KS; two grandchildren, William and Kate Still; her sister, Darlene Gerstner, Quinter, KS; two brothers: Jim Wilson & wife, Pat, Elkhorn, NE and Larry Wilson & wife, Sandy, Kansas City, KS; brother-in-law, Robert Still & wife, Betty, Kirwin, KS; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2019 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, 1115 2nd Street, Phillipsburg, KS 67661. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
Mrs. Still will lie in state from noon to 9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. that evening at the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Phillips County Hospital.
