Phillipsburg resident, Diane M. Teasley-Saindon, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg at the age of 86.
She was born June 18, 1929 in McCook, NE the daughter of Henry M. & Fedora M. (Hamel) Berland. She returned to Kansas at the age of 1. She attended grade school at West Sand Creek Country School in Rooks County, graduated from Palco High School with the class of 46', and then attended Fort Hays State College.
She was united in marriage to Rex Teasley on October 22, 1947 in Zurich, KS. To this union 6 children were born: Keith, Terry, Stan, Joyce, Paula & Deb. Rex preceded her in death on January 3, 1993. She then met and married Philip P. Saindon on July 8, 1995 in Plainville, KS. With this union came 3 step-daughters, Susan, Phylis & Kathy, whom she thought of as her own. Philip then preceded her in death on May 17, 1997.
Diane was a member of the St. Ann Altar Society until 1966, then a member of the SS Philip & James Altar Society.
Diane worked for the Phillipsburg Coop Association as the office manager for many years. She was one of the first people in Phillips County to use a computer in the office.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, LeRoy Berland; husband's Rex & Philip; & sons, Stanley in 2003 & Terry in 1970.
Survivors include her son, Keith Teasley & Judy Piercy of Assaria, KS; 3 daughters, Joyce Leighton & husband, Randy of Scott City, KS, & Paula Schilowsky & husband, Gary and Deb McConnell & husband, Terry, all of Phillipsburg, KS; 3 step-daughters, Susan Cerelejia of Seattle WA, Phylis Saindon of Malden, MA and Kathy Driscoll of Lawrence, KS; 2 sisters, Phyllis Lewis of Hill City, KS & Patricia Lietz of Wichita, KS; 2 sister's-in-law, Jean Berland of Hays, KS and Delora Teasley of Stockton, KS; 16 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; & 2 step-great grandchildren.
Cremation was planned. A Scriptural Wake & Rosary will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the SS Philip & James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, with Father George Chalbhagam officiating.
Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, where the family will receive friends from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. that evening.
Memorial contributions may be made to the SS Philip & James Catholic Church.
