Donald R. Johnson of Norton, KS died Friday, October 30, 2015 at home. He was
born August 1, 1943 in Colby, KS. to Mandus and Evelyn Johnson. Proceeded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Connie, his two children Paige Johnson of Kansas City, MO, and Daniel (Angela) Johnson of Lee's Summit, MO and his grandson Noah.
He grew up in Colby, KS and graduated from Colby High School in 1961. He attended Kansas State University and graduated with a BS in 1965. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon social fraternity, where he served as pledge trainer.
He married Connie Hager on June 13, 1965 in Norton, KS. They moved to Anderson, Indiana where he worked for Guide Lamp Division of GM. In 1966 he was drafted into the US Army and served three years, two of which were on the island of Okinawa.
He returned to Anderson, IN and continued to work for Guide Lamp. In 1972 their daughter Paige was born. In 1974 they moved to Norton, KS. In 1976 their son Daniel was born. He worked for A&T Implement, Norton County Implement, Phillips County Implement, Heartland Marking, and FarmChem of Iowa.
He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church where he served as Sr. Warden, lay reader, adult Sunday school teacher, and tirelessly with God's Pantry.
He was a avid gardener and shared his produce with his friends and church members. He loved to grow flowers. He loved supporting his alma mater Kansas State Wildcats. He had a strong work ethic and dearly loved his family and his church.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, November 3, at 1:00 p.m. in the Trinity Episcopal Church, Norton, with Rev. Jerry Jones officiating.

Inurnment will follow in the Norton Cemetery.
