Former Phillipburg, KS resident, Dorothy (Herrick) Glover was born March 1, 1949 in Smith Center, Kansas. She was the daughter of Ralph and Lois (Turner) Herrick. Dorothy passed away at the Aberdeen Health and Rehab in Aberdeen, SD on July 3, 2012 at the age of 63.
She grew up in Phillipsburg, Kansas and graduated from Phillipsburg High School. On June 22, 1969 Dorothy was united in marriage to Jeff Glover in Phillipsburg, Kansas. To this union 3 children were born: Burton, Angela, and Sandra.
Dorothy worked at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg for a number of years. She also worked for her dad at the Herrick retail liquor store. For the rest of her time she was a homemaker. Jeff and Dorothy lived in North Dakota, South Dakota, and then built their home in Cimarron, KS in 1980 and lived there until Jeff passed away in 1982. Dorothy and her 3 kids then returned to her family's hometown of Phillipsburg, KS where she lived until she became a resident of the Aberdeen Health and Rehab in 2006.
Dorothy loved her outings, craft time, and visiting with the residents and staff during her time at the Aberdeen Health and Rehab. She will be greatly missed by all the friends she had there.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Glover; her parents, Ralph and Lois Herrick; and her sister, Becky Herrick.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Burton Glover & wife, Angela of Groton, SD, and two daughters, Angela VanRoekel & husband, Mike of Worthing, SD and Sandra Glover of Aberdeen, SD; her 4 grandchildren: Tylan, Tadyn, Connor, and Lauren; three brothers: Russ Herrick & wife, Marla of Denver, CO; and Leland Herrick and Ed Herrick, both of Phillipsburg KS; and 1 sister, Maxine Arasmith & husband, Jeff of Cheyenne, WY.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Joel Hiesterman officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
