Obituary

Edna Schuster McClellan McKown, passed away on January 17, 2021 in Phillipsburg, Kansas at the age of 89. Edna was born to Leonard and Minnie Karsten Schuster on February 26, 1931 and was raised on a farm west of Phillipsburg. She graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1949 & married her high school sweetheart, Robert McClellan on December 3, 1949. To this union were born 2 sons and 3 daughters; Robert, James, Judy, Sherry, and Peggy. After the tragic death of her husband in 1958, she married Raymond McKown in 1965.

Edna worked at KN Energy (Kansas Nebraska Natural Gas Co) for 31 years and retired in 1992 as the Payroll Supervisor. She loved her work and her co-workers were very special to her.

Edna was a very independent, hard-working, and strong woman whose pride and joy were her 5 children and 10 grandchildren. She was a very kind, fun-loving mother and grandmother.  She was a dog lover and a fierce collector of Cabbage Patch Dolls and Boyd's Bears. Edna was an avid sports fan and always cheered for her Broncos, Braves, Cubs, Royals, and her favorite the Phillipsburg Panthers.

Edna was preceded in death by her 2 husbands-Robert McClellan and Raymond McKown; her son-Robert McClellan; her parents-Leonard & Minnie Schuster; 2 brothers-Bernard and Harvey Schuster; her sister-Betty Osburn; and 1/2 sister Helen Bowman. Survivors include her 4 children: Jim McClellan (Myrna) of Liberal, KS; Judy Miller (Lannie) of Lake View, IA; Sherry Levendofsky (Randy) of Timnath, CO; Peggy McGough (Doug) of Overland Park, KS; 10 grandchildren: Robbie McClellan, Ryan McClellan, Holly Albrecht, Jenny Adair, Michael Miller, Jill Barker, Stacey Peterson, Julie Ruff, Cindy Scott, and Tyler McGough; and 26 great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed and will live on in our hearts and in our memories.
