IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eileen M.
Bohl
August 9, 1926 – November 24, 2018
Eileen Mae Bohl passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg, KS at the age of 92.
She was born August 9, 1926 on a farm in Phillips County, Kansas, the daughter of Roy and Hazel (Rumbaugh) Rowland.
On June 7, 1946 she was baptized and confirmed at the Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stuttgart, Kansas.
After graduating from high school, Eileen married Ralph Bohl on October 20, 1945 in Stuttgart. This union was blessed with four children: Judith, James, Patricia and Steven.
Shortly after their marriage Eileen & Ralph moved to Selden, Kansas, for a while, farming property there and in Phillips County at the same time.
They eventually moved back to Phillipsburg, Kansas, where Eileen worked for a short time at the J. C. Penney store. After her children were grown, Eileen and her sister-in-law, Clara Kaiser, began hanging wallpaper and painting for different people around town.
Eileen thoroughly enjoyed being a homemaker, wife and mother. She loved cooking, canning, gardening, and making homemade bread, as well as sewing, embroidery work, and quilting at the church. In her spare time she also enjoyed dancing, camping, and doing puzzles. But there was nothing that brought her more joy than spending time with her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy & Hazel, 3 grandchildren; Shannon & Dana Bohl & Krinda Ferguson & her sister Marguerite Wallace.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph, of Phillipsburg; sons, James and Steve, both of Phillipsburg; her daughters, Pat Sheneman of Holdrege, NE and Judy Fuchs of New Albany, IN; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 30 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Dave Hutson officiating.
Friends may sign the book from 9:00 to 9:00 Thursday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel.
