Phillipsburg resident, Elaine L. Keeten, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, KS at the age of 64.

She was born September 28, 1949 in Hanston, KS, the daughter of Otha Truman & Sylvia May (Clifton) Salmans. Elaine was a teacher at the elementary school in Phillipsburg for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Donald "Bud" Keeten; son, Jed, of Phillipsburg and daughter, Carmen Levin of Fairview, TX; three brothers: Lee Salmans, Larry Salmans and Walt Salmans, all of Hanston, KS; two sisters, Sylvia Barron of Oklahoma City, OK and Jana Jordan of Hays, KS; and 8 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 15, at 10:30 a.m. in the United Methodist Church, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Gary Davison officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

Visitation will be Sunday from noon – 9 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.
