Obituary

Former Agra, KS resident Elaine Delores Morgan first child of John H. and Berniece E. (Thieler) Kinyon was born June 18, 1932 in Swan Township, Smith County near Kensington, KS and passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at the age of 93 at the Via Christi Village in Hays, KS.

She attended school at District #8 and #7 in Swan Township, Kensington High School for one year, and graduated from Agra High School in 1950.

On August 26, 1951, she married Harlan D. Morgan at Kensington, KS.  To this union 1 son, Duane L. and 2 daughters Charlene E. and Roberta D. were born.  The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2011.

Elaine loved sewing for her children, grandchildren, and anyone that needed something made, fixed, patched, or altered including prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, wedding dresses, cheer uniforms for the school, and she made many quilts.  She was a past member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Berniece; her husband Harlan D. on February 7, 2012; son-in-law Kerry G. Jarvis on January 1, 1997; grandson-in-law John J. Long on February 22, 2022; her brothers: Darrel Henry, Dale Willis, and Doran Lee Kinyon; and sister-in-law Bonnie Kinyon.

Survivors include her son Duane L. Morgan and wife Laura of Wakeeney; daughters Charlene E. King of Hays, KS and Roberta D. Jarvis of Phillipsburg; 10 Grandchildren:  Jesse Morgan, John Morgan and wife Jennifer, Gina Long, Sheila Bethel and husband Jay, Heather Schoenthaler and husband Steve, Tavis King and wife Deb, Nic King, Klint Jarvis and wife Katie, Tyler Jarvis, and Kurtis Jarvis and wife Kassandra; 14 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters Ethel Irene Halbert and husband Howard of Denver, CO and Evelyn Coleen Stones and husband Lynn of Smith Center; sister-in-law Becky Kinyon of Holcomb, KS; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2025 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Becky Saddler officiating. The services will be streamed live on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page .  Burial will follow in the West Cedar Cemetery, north of Agra, KS.

Mrs. Morgan will lie in state from noon until 9 p.m. Tuesday, and again from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.
