Eleanor Lorraine Simmons, daughter of Albert & Marie (Cox) Simmons was born November 16, 1936 in Lenora, KS.  She passed away on November 23, 2022 at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg, KS at the age of 86.

She attended school in Phillipsburg, graduating from Phillipsburg High School.  After graduation she attended Asbury School of Nursing in Salina, KS.

Eleanor worked as a traveling nurse for a few years before moving to Eureka, KS where she was a nurse for several years.  She then moved back to Phillipsburg and worked with her sister Lucille at E & L Beauty Shop for a short time before taking a full time position at the Phillips County Medical Clinic where she worked until her retirement.

She enjoyed traveling & liked animals.   In 2014, due to failing health, Eleanor moved to the Phillips County Retirement Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents & siblings: Lucille, Margaret, Charles & Allen & her brother-in-law Francis Judd.

Survivors include her brothers Raymond of Great Bend, KS and Robert and wife JoAnn of Goodland, KS and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 3 at 10:00 a.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel with Pastor Becky Saddler officiating.  Burial will follow in the Marvin Cemetery, Glade.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 Thursday & 9:00 to 9:00 Friday at the Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Phillips County Retirement Center.
