Elizabeth M. Weinman, daughter of Harry and Bess (Duncan) Stuckman, was born in Kirwin, Kansas on July 28, 1927 and died at the Good Samaritan Society-Hays Nursing Facility on February 16, 2016 at the age of 88.
She attended elementary school in Kirwin, Kansas and graduated from Phillipsburg High School. She later graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education. She was a third grade teacher in the Phillipsburg School District and retired in 1989.
She was united in marriage to Ehrhard Weinman on January 26, 1947 in Stuttgart, Kansas. To this marriage five children were born. They lived on the family farm for many years and later made their home in Phillipsburg.
Elizabeth served on the Phillipsburg City Library Board for many years. She was active in Zion Lutheran Church and a member of the Zion Lutheran church women. In her later years, she was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Hays, Kansas.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Ehrhard, her parents, Harry and Bess Stuckman, a son, David Weinman, her sisters Jean and Eleanor Sweat, and a daughter-in-law Gloria Weinman.
Survivors include three sons: Jim and wife Micki of Alliance, NE, Tom and wife Bonnie of Phillipburg and Bob and wife Lynette of Overland Park, Kansas; one daughter Mary Shepker and husband Rick of Hays, Kansas; six grandchildren, Jerod Weinman and wife Jen of Grinnell, Iowa, Dan Weinman and wife Lori of Colby, Kansas, Matt Shepker and wife Misty of Overland Park, Kansas, Becky Angell and husband Norbert of Olathe, Kansas, Heather Otwell and husband Clayton of Wellsville, Kansas and Brandi Johnson and husband Brien of Overland Park, Kansas, one sister-in-law Erna Zink of Marysville, Kansas and 14 great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Family & friends are invited to a luncheon & time of fellowship at noon with the service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, 1115 2nd Street, Phillipsburg with Pastor Kenton Rohrberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
Mrs. Weinman will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday & Thursday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg. The casket will remain closed.
