Eugene grew up on the family farm and had a lifelong love of farming. He continued helping his son, Mitch on his ranch until his health no longer allowed. In 1964, Eugene married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Post. They shared 59 wonderful years of marriage together before Marilyn lost her battle with cancer in 2021. Together they had two children, Shannon and Mitch. Eugene worked several jobs with the majority of his working career being spent at the Phillipsburg Refinery where he retired in 2010.
Eugene enjoyed his family rarely missing his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids activities. He enjoyed traveling in his 5 th wheel camper with Marilyn, watching Nascar and spending time working in his shop. Eugene and Marilyn spent several winters in Bouse, AZ with a group of Phillipsburg friends riding their UTV in the desert. They took several trips to Las Vegas with their close friends Doug and Carol. Favorite family trips and life long memories were made in Angel Fire, NM, Breckenridge, CO and the Badlands of South Dakota.
