Almena Resident, Forrest "Jim" Ruth, passed away, peacefully in his home, on August 29, 2023, at the age of 72.
Forrest James Ruth was born on June 21, 1951 in Thornton, Colorado, to his parents Forrest and Opal (Brown) Ruth.
After graduating high school, Jim attended art school for one year. In Jim's first marriage to Chris, two sons were born, Jeremy and Troy. He enjoyed attending concerts, art, restoring furniture, collecting antiques, auctions, his dogs (Buck, Herbert, Cooper, Moose and Maynard), camping, spending time with family, and was a true craftsman.
He was married to Marla (Miller) Ruth on October 26, 1987 in Norton, Kansas.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents Forrest and Opal Ruth.
Survivors include his wife Marla Ruth of Almena, Kansas, sons Jeremy Ruth and wife Joni of Kearney, Nebraska, and Troy Ruth of Almena, Kansas, daughter Sammye Clarke and husband Andrew of Georgetown, Texas, step sons Christopher Wentz of Beaumont, California, and Erik Wentz of Cheyenne, Wyoming, sister Shirley Moore of Orlando Florida, "bonus daughter" Catherine Orr of Norton, Kansas as well as 9 grandchildren: Camile, Jamie, Tahpanga, Hunter, Alura, Ella, Charlye, Martin, and Tommy, and 3 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on September 9, 2023 at the Almena Community Building in Almena, Kansas from 1-4.
