Francis Joe Goracke, Phillips county resident, passed away October 11,
2013 at the Phillips County Retirement Center, at the age of 88 years.

Francis was the youngest son of Edna (Bradley) and Joseph Goracke.
Francis was born November 15, 1924 in northern Phillips county. He was
baptized as a child at Pleasant Green Church.

As a young man, he farmed with his dad, and worked at the creamery in
Holdredge, Nebraska. It was at the creamery he met Tillie Lucille Diener.
They were united in marriage August 8, 1954 at the Lutheran church in
Macon, Nebraska. To this union two children were born. Harvey and
Joyce.

Francis and Tillie attended the Englewood church, raising their children in
the Christian faith.
Francis always enjoyed the farm life, caring for his animals, all the while
working at Tamko roofing products, retiring from Tamko after 28 years of
service.

Francis was a quiet man, always a gentleman. His Lord came first and his
family next. He believed in "love thy neighbor" --helping them when or
wherever he was needed.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Warren and
Leland, two sisters Erma Bugbee and Iva Dennis, and his wife Tillie L.
Goracke.

He is survived by son Harvey and wife Marilyn of Phillipsburg; daughter
Joyce Bretton and husband Dale of Glade. 5 grandchildren, 7 great-
grandchildren; and a brother Dee Goracke of Hastings, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be held Thurs., Oct. 17, at 2:00 p.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Joel Hiesterman officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

Visitation will be Tues. from noon – 9 p.m. and Wed. from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. at the funeral home, with the family receiving friends Wed. evening from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
