Gary Eugene Johnson, son of Jerry & Catherine (Olson) Misner, was born May 8, 1943 in Denver, Colorado and passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at the Deseret Nursing Home in Kensington, Kansas at the age of 70.

Gary grew up in Colorado, living most of his life in the Denver area. After graduating from high school he worked in his grandmother's restaurant prior to serving in the Army during the Vietnam war.
Gary married Shirley Ann Trujillo in the 70's and the couple made their home in Denver. After his discharge from the military he worked various jobs but was primarily employed as a baker in a local grocery store. His wife, Shirley, passed away in February, 1998.

Gary's favorite pastime was reading, but he also enjoyed playing the lottery.
In addition to his wife, Gary was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Misner, and his mother, Catherine and adopted father, George Johnson.

Survivors include his brother, Eric Johnson, of Denver, CO; his sister, Gail Artz, of Kensington, KS; and several nieces & nephews, including Deb Watt & husband, Eric, and Bob Artz, both of Phillipsburg, KS.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Sept. 19, at 1:00 p.m. in the Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 – 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel in Phillipsburg, KS.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
