Phillipsburg resident, Glen "Ike" Edwards passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025 at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg at the age of 74.
He was born August 18, 1950 in Beloit, KS the son of Glen V. and Mamie (Wines) Edwards.
Ike was united in marriage to Linda D. Edwards on August 8, 1971 in Downs, KS. She preceded him in death on January 2, 2022.
He had a deep love for western movies and books, finding joy in the works of Louis L'Amour and Zane Grey. Treasure hunting at local auctions and thrift stores was a favorite pastime, where he delighted in uncovering hidden gems. His passion for rodeos and heartfelt conversations about horses reflected his enduring connection to the western spirit. He cherished the companionship of his beloved cat, "Frog," and held a special fondness for all the dogs in the family. His memory will live on in the lives of those who shared his passions and love.
Survivors include sons Timothy of Phillipsburg and Matthew and wife Wendy of Pleasantville, IA; daughter Sammie Pinkal and husband Kyle of Wilcox, NE; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brothers Loren Edwards and wife Ann of Phillipsburg and Sam Edwards and wife Arna of Phoenix, AZ; and sisters Margie Stout and husband Keith of Beloit and Glenice Emmet and husband John of Goodland.
Cremation was planned. A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19th, 2025 at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Scott Eller officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, April 18th at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. for visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospitals.
