Obituary

Helen Elberta Boughton September 11, 1925 – February 14, 2011 Helen Elberta Boughton, a long time resident of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away at Hospice Care Center, she was 85 years young.

Helen was a very devoted wife and mother and a very well rounded, diversified and much respected member of the community. Helen was born in Republican City, NE. Helen's contribution to the war effort during WWII was applied in Glendora, CA, working in a munitions factory along side two of her sisters-in-law, where they assembled two ton bombs.

Helen was an active member of the Eastern Stars during the twenty years she lived in Rangely, CO. She enjoyed gardening and showing people the many flowers that she raised and was well known for this where ever she lived. During her years of gardening she won many ribbons in flowers shows as well as "Yard of the Month!" In addition, much pleasure was gained in extensive travel in the United States, Canada and Mexico. With a flare of humor, she shared tips on life lessons! During her lifetime she enjoyed the pleasure and company of a variety of cats and dogs. Through out her middle and senior years she enjoyed sharing the sport of pure bred dog showing with one of her sons. This resulted in meeting many new friends and adding to travel opportunities. Many honors were earned, including her current dog, Dancer. This is only one of many examples of how supportive and involved she was with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Clyde A. Boughton. They were married on February 21, 1943 in Norton, KS. She is also preceded in death by her parents, John L. and Blanche A. McGinty, and her eight siblings.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde W. and Helen A. of Humboldt, NE; Charles L. and Marjorie S., and John D. of Grand Junction, CO; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2011 in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Chris Davis officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Valley Kennel Club, Grand Junction, Colorado.
