Lifelong Kirwin, KS resident Hilda C. Weems passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg at the age of 85.

She was born November 18, 1936 in Kirwin, KS the daughter of Joseph and Velma (Cales) Stoner.  She graduated from Kirwin High School.

Hilda was the City Clerk in Kirwin for over 30 years.  She loved geneology, taking many trips tracing her ancestry.  Hilda was also an avid gardener.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was so looking forward to meeting the newest grandson before her death.

Hilda was united in marriage to Charles Weems on April 13, 1954 in Phillipsburg, KS.  He preceded her in death on September 7, 1999.

She was also preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Velma and a brother Milton Stoner.

Survivors include her daughter Tisha Lynn Bohl and James Melvin of Kirwin, KS; 3 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Michael Ricci-Roberts officiating. The services will be streamed live on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page .  Burial will follow in the Kirwin Cemetery, Kirwin, KS.

Mrs. Weems will lie in state from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel.  The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. for visitation in the funeral chapel.
