Irene Fleta (Schemper) Kats, age 83, passed away on September 9th, 2026, in Overland Park, KS.

Irene was born on April 21st, 1943, to Peter and Maxine (Zellmer) Schemper.

Irene married Sherlyn Kats on November 27th, 1964, at the Luctor Christian Reformed Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 14th, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Ashley Morgan-Kirk officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Phillipsburg.

Irene will lie in state on Sunday, September 13th, 2026, from 12 PM to 9 PM, with the family receiving friends from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
