Obituary

James J. “Jimmy” Bieniek, 75, of Kirwin, Kansas, formerly of Mora, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Born on March 19, 1949, in North St. Paul, Minnesota, Jim was the son of Andy and Betty Bieniek.

Jim is survived by his wife Jackie, with whom he shared 38 years; his brothers Bob and Kevin; daughters Jamie, Amanda, and Christina; sons Rich, Jason, and Eliot; eleven grandchildren; and seven great‑grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Theresa, and his son Scott.

Jim lived a life filled with adventure, laughter, and deep love for the outdoors. He cherished his time fishing on Mille Lacs Lake, whether alone or with friends. He enjoyed deer hunting in Northern Minnesota and treasured the moose and caribou hunts he shared with his dear friend John Whelan in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. His yearly trips to Kirwin, Kansas, brought him joy as he fished with family, reeling in crappies, walleyes, and catfish. Jim also loved his Corvettes and Harleys. Over the years he owned several, and each one brought him joy. Riding or driving gave him a sense of freedom he truly cherished.

Above all, Jim loved being with his children and grandchildren. Time spent with them was his greatest happiness, and he held each of them close to his heart.

Jim will be remembered for his warmth, his stories, his humor, and the love he gave so freely. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 19, 2026, from 4:00–8:00 PM at the American Legion–Osseo, 260 4th Avenue SE, Osseo, MN 55369.
