Phillipsburg resident, James Allen Fleck was born, May 23, 1959 at the Wabash County Hospital in Wabash, Indiana the son of George Lamar & Jean Ellen (Gaston) Fleck. He passed away at the Logan Manor in Logan, Kansas on Monday, January 25, 2016 at the age of 56.
He graduated high school with the class of 1977 from Huntington North High School in Huntington, IN. Jim farmed on the family farm. He then worked in at Kroger's warehouse, then as a security guard before entering the United States Army in 1988. Jim was a career service man. He was honorably discharged on May 28, 1996 as a Sergeant.
Survivors include his Mother, Jean E. Fleck of Huntington, IN; 2 brothers, Donald E. Fleck & wife, Judy of Huntington, IN and Steven D. Fleck & wife, Pamela, of Andrews, IN; 2 sisters, Patricia (Patti) A. Fleck and Cynthia (Cindy) S. Stout & Husband Gary, all of Huntington, IN; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts & uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, George; brother, Gregory L. Fleck in Vietnam; paternal grandparents, Elmer & Bessie Fleck; paternal step-grandmother, Hazel Fleck; and maternal grandparents, Russell W. & Lena (Herriman) Gaston.
Cremation was planned. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2016 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Randy Garner officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Andrews, Indiana.
Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
