Obituary

Lifelong Phillipsburg resident, James Redinger, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026 at the age of 61.

He was born on December 17th, 1964, in Phillipsburg, the son of Dwight and Gertrude (Jerby) Redinger.

Jim was a wild child in his younger years. He drove fast, partied hard, and still made it to work and school. He worked in the kitchen of Terry’s Restaurant when he was 14, only quitting when his grades started to fall. He also worked for Solida Tree Service, Shields Roofing, and Tamko. He then left for Arizona to be with the love of his life, Nancy. He returned home when his father became ill and worked with Uncle Corky, until being hired at Mineral Right, where he made close, lifelong friends with his co-workers. He had his Dad’s work ethic and his Mom’s soft heart and faith. He didn’t attend church as an adult; he believed God was everywhere and prayers were private.

Jim was one of the kindest, most loving, and loyal men. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He was a loyal friend who always had your back. He won arm wrestling trophies and played baseball with Dad cheering him on. He taught his baby brother how to talk—patiently and lovingly. He loved a good joke as well as telling them and making people laugh, often delivering them in his deep, unmistakable voice—one so recognizable it was once used by the local radio station. He could catch a fish when no one else could, harvest a deer for his family, and grow a garden to be proud of.

He loved dogs. Spot, Sandy, Sadie, Seven and Trixie were family. He was there for Turbo when he lost his Gary. His last request was to take care of Trixie for him, and she is lost without him. We all are.

Jim was special; one of a kind. God knew something we didn’t when He called him home that day. His time here has ended. He is happy and with the ones who went before him. Catch you later, Jim. Give Dad, Mom, Debbie, Jim, and Gary all hugs for us.

Survivors include his sister, Rhonda Calhoon and brother, Donny and wife Rachel all of Glade; nephews: Jason Calhoon, Devon Redinger, and Jonathan Pirotte; bonus nephews: Josh Goscha and Scott Bruehahn; nieces: Sydnee, Bella, Briella, and Misty Redinger; aunts Brenda Jerby and Darlene Redinger; and many cousins.

Memorial services for Jim will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.
