Janet Marie (McCue)(Nichol) Jansonius, daughter of Harold Massie and Jeannine (Bartlett) McCue was born May 28, 1950 at Hays, Kansas.  After battling ALS, she passed away at her home in Prairie View, Kansas, July 11, 2019, with family at her side.

She grew up in the Logan, Kansas vicinity, graduating from Logan High School in 1968.  She received her Associate Degree from Colby Community College, then worked for Southwestern Bell in Norton and Colby.  Later she worked in hospital admissions at Phillipsburg and as activities director at the Logan Manor.

Janet was married to Charles Nichol at Logan, June 11, 1971.  To this union two children were born; Ryan in 1974 and Amy in 1976.  Charles passed away in 2011.  Janet married Rodney Jansonius at Prairie View, November 15, 2014.

Janet enjoyed baking, quilting, reading and gardening.  She enjoyed special events, such as tea parties with her grandchildren.  She was patriotic and always made it a point to thank a veteran for his/her service.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, and two infant sisters and a brother, Steve.

She is survived by her husband, Rodney; son, Ryan Nichol and wife, Jennifer of Russell,KS; daughter, Amy Nichol and fiancé, Rudy Sanchez, both of Leoti, KS; two grandchildren, Reneé  and Dominic; brother, Duane McCue and wife, Yvonne of Logan, KS; sister, Karen McCue of Honolulu, HI;  many nieces and nephews; step-children, Jacob Jansonius and wife, Miriah of Omaha, NE, Jennifer Duley and husband, Jared of San Antonio, TX and Joni Goodsell and husband, Bradshaw of Geneva, IL; and step-grandchildren, Claire and Max Duley and Hawkins Harold Jansonius.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in the Prairie View Reformed Church, Prairie View, with Pastor Lew VanDerWege officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Logan, KS.

Visitation will be Saturday & Sunday from noon – 9 p.m. at the Logan Funeral Home in Logan.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Logan Public Library or the Prairie View Public Library.
