Janice Kay Lohrmeyer, daughter of Gus & Mary (Vogel) Forssberg, was born August 15, 1943 on the family farm northeast of Logan, Kansas.  She passed away on November 26, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 77.

Janice grew up in the Logan area where she attended school, graduating with the class of 1961.  On October 21, 1961, she was united in marriage to Gale Lohrmeyer & to this union, three children were born.

The couple lived in Dodge City, Kansas for a short time before returning to Logan.  Janice worked as a Librarian, city clerk & finally as an Administrative Assistant at the Logan Manor where she worked for almost 50 years.

Janice will be remembered for her love of the people of Logan.  She was a community leader, serving as the President of the St. John's Ladies Guild.  She was a gifted seamstress & musician.  She accompanied many soloists, playing the organ & piano at church.  She also accompanied the church choir & played for graduations.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter-in-law Jae Lohrmeyer; her grandsons Dustin Lohrmeyer & Houston Eitzmann & her brother Donald Forssberg.

Survivors include her husband Gale of Logan; her daughter, Gayla Binder & husband Rick of Hays, KS; 2 sons: Mike & fiancé Judy Stanton of Hays, KS & David & wife Kellie of Hays, KS; 15 grandchildren & 19 great-grandchildren.

A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wed. Dec. 2 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. John's Catholic Church, Logan, with Father George Chalbhagam officiating.  The service will be streamed live on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page.  Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery.

A public Rosary Service will be held Tues. Dec. 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Logan Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Logan Manor or the St. John's Ladies Guild & Choir.

Visitation will be from noon to 9:00 Monday & Tuesday at the Logan Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 7:00 to 8:00 Tuesday evening.
