Obituary

Jason Alan Willis, son of Richard & Virginia (Stewart) Willis, was born November 24, 1968 in Hill City, Kansas and passed away February 15, 2012 at the Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 43.

He grew up and attended schools in Phillipsburg, Kansas, graduating with the Phillipsburg High School class of 1987. Jason was a member of the Phillipsburg Wrestling Team who won the State title that year. Jason continued his passion for wrestling competing in the 1999 Sunflower Games in Lawrence, KS, where he won three individual Gold Medals in the over age 30 heavy weight division.

After high school Jason earned his Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. He coached wrestling at St. John's Military Academy in Salina, Kansas following his graduation from college. Later he worked for the Wichita Central AG Wheel & Tire Mobile Service in Wichita, Kansas.

Jason's proudest accomplishment was raising his two boys, Trenton & Justin.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfred & Erma (Lala) Willis and Lester & Emma (Simko) Stewart; 2aunts, Sylvia Stewart Griffey & Polly Stewart; & uncle, Arthur Stewart.

Survivors included his sons, Trenton James & Justin Alan Willis and their mother, Tonya Stone all of Salina; his parents, Richard & Virginia of Phillipsburg; an aunts, Leonore House & husband, Dight of McCracken, KS & Mary Ann Stewart of Littleton, CO; & uncle Ivan Stewart & wife, Mary Fern of Oklahoma City, OK.

Jason will by missed by his many friends & family.

Graveside services will be held Monday, Feb. 20, at 2:00 p.m. in the Kirwin Cemetery, Kirwin, KS with Pastor Tim Kraft officiating.

Friends may sign the book from 5 – 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. – noon Monday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel in Phillipsburg.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association and sent in care of the funeral home.
