Jimmie L. Miner passed away on June 13, 2026 in Halstead, Kansas, surrounded by family. He was born on October 23, 1946 to Vernon and Margaret (Gillespie) Miner in Long Island, Kansas.

Jim graduated from Long Island High School in 1964 and went on to graduate from Fort Hays State with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1968. He married Margaret LoRene Ladd on August 27, 1966. To this union, two children were born, Brian Wayne and Lynell LoRene. Jim was a member of the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1972 where he served as Military Police. He was stationed at Grissom Air Force Base, Indiana, Bien Hoa Air Force Base, Vietnam and Edwards Air Force Base, California during his time of service. Afterwards his careers included the Gas Company in Phillipsburg, to the Refinery and finally to his 30-year career at Tamko, where he retired in 2012. Jim’s pride and joy was his family. As his grandchildren got older, he and LoRene loved going to all of their sporting events. Once he started being blessed with great grandchildren, his heart grew even more. They always ran to great grandpa’s room when they first walked through the front door. They knew he would be there with sweet snacks for them to pick from! He will be missed dearly.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Margaret, an infant brother Billy, grandparents Ralph and Nellie Miner, son Brian, wife LoRene, sister Janet Good and Aunt Tiny and Uncle Don Miner, along with many other extended family members.

Jim is survived by his daughter Lynell (Carl) Miskimins of Halstead, daughter-in-law Angel Miner of Agra, sister Kay (Randall) Hebing of Red Cloud, granddaughter Breck (Joe) Baxter of Glade, grandson Christopher (Brianna) Miskimins of Halstead, grandson Dalton Miner of Hays, grandson Brian (Alecia) Miskimins of Newton and great grandchildren Nash, Harleigh, Brynlee, Kash, Emery and Nova.
