IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jimmy Lee
Ducharm
January 26, 1955 – March 20, 2024
Jimmy Lee Ducharm, our dearest nephew, brother, cousin, and friend, passed away March 20th, 2024 at the Smith County Hospital in Smith Center, Kansas at the age of 69. Jim was born January 26th, 1955 in Smith Center to Alfred Lee and Aleta Rae (Gower) Ducharm. Jim and his Aunt Waneta Gower, resided on the family farm of his grandparents, Paul and Crystol Gower, until his death. The farm meant a lot to Jim.
Jimmy worked at Quality Corner as a serviceman, and Rangeland and Trinity Ag as a propane driver. He also helped his Grandpa Paul and Uncle Paul Lee on the farm. Later, he raised cattle himself, which he loved. Each one of the cattle was like his family.
Waneta and Jimmy would take cruises together and vacations. It was a joy for them both. Jim would often babysit Shawn and Aneta Christensen's children, Chris, Waylon, Faelynn, and Dalton. He loved taking them to amusement parks, signing them up for swimming lessons, and taking them to the sale barn. They loved Jimmy dearly, and he loved them.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Alfred Lee and Aleta Rae Ducharm and both sets of Grandparents. Survivors include his brother Kerry Alan Ducharm of Costa Messa, California; his sister Gaylene Rae Ducharm of Mission Viejo, California; his Aunt Waneta Gower and sons Jimmy and Alex Gower, who lived with him in Agra, Kansas; his Aunt Aneta Christensen, husband Shawn, and their children, Chris Gower and girlfriend Melissa Young, Waylon, Faelynn, and Dalton of Agra, Kansas; and Faelynn's children, Tyson Christensen, and Hayden and Addison LaClair of Agra, Kansas.
Jimmy will be deeply missed.
Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 5 at 2:30 p.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jay Brandon officiating. The service will be streamed live on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page. Burial will follow in the West Cedar Cemetery.
