Obituary
Long Island resident, John W. Ponstein, passed away Saturday, June 5 at the Norton County Hospital in Norton at the age of 86. He was born July 17, 1923 in Phillips County to Harry & Nellie (Kats) Ponstein. He was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn of the home,; 2 sons, Harlan & Ken of Long Island; 3 daughters: Hildreth Butterfield of Colorado Springs, CO, Kathy Kooyenga of Thornton, ILL and Lavonne Ponstein of Phillipsburg; his sister, Eileen Kats of Phillipsburg; 10 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 8 at 10:30 a.m. in the Luctor Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Jeff Van Der Weele and Daryl Kats officiating. Burial followed in the Luctor Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Elim Christian School or TFC Connection.
