Former Kirwin resident, A. June Kearns-Majors, passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010 at the Logan County Hospital in Oakley, KS at the age of 74. She was born Feb. 8, 1936 in Webster County, Nebraska, to Ray & Sue (Strobl) Wilmot. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service.
She is survived by her husband, Delbert Majors, of Oakley; sons, Butch Persinger of Gaffney, SC; Mike Persinger of Newport News, VA; Pete Kearns of Stockton, KS and Ben Kearns of Phillipsburg, KS; daughters, Shirley Jo Horn of Hays, KS and Kathi Ebner of Logan, KS; two brothers, Bud Wilmot of Cottonwood, AL and Les Wilmot of Mead, WA; four sisters: Margaret Karabin of Bloomington, NE; Jean Smith of Elberton, GA; Helen Bush of Spokane, WA; and Dorothy Robertson of Coeur d'Alene, ID; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Kirwin Cemetery, Kirwin, KS with Bob Kelly officiating.
