Larry Eugene Eller, age 72, of Cave Junction, Oregon and formerly of Kirwin, Kansas passed away at his home November 10, 2010. He was born March 19, 1938 in Glade, Kansas to Lucile and Sollie Eller. He attended school in Kirwin, Kansas and graduated from Kirwin High School in 1956. He attended a two year college in Kansas City, Missouri. He went to work as a truck driver in road construction. In 1972 he went to work for Tamko Roofing Company in Phillipsburg, Kansas and retired in 1999 after 27 years of loyal service.
Larry married Mickey Moore in 1971 and they raised four children, Debra, Joe, Andy, and Darla. Larry was a member of the Phillips County Rod and Customs Club and the Lions Club in Kirwin. Larry enjoyed rodeo, NASCAR, drag racing, traveling, camping, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Larry and his wife Mickey, moved to Cave Junction, Oregon in 2002. He spent all of his life in and around Kirwin except for the time spent in Oregon.
Larry is survived by his wife, Mickey of Cave Junction, Oregon; his children, Debra Taylor and spouse Robert Taylor of Cave Junction, Oregon; Andy Moore and spouse Chris of Creston, Iowa; Darla Howell and companion Dean Oueliette of Blockton, Iowa; two brothers, Jerry Eller and spouse Bonnie of Payson, Arizona and Sollie Dee Eller of Russell, Kansas; a sister, Roseanna Eller of Edmond, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sollie and Lucile Eller; a son, Joseph Moore; and two sisters Sandra Jane Kennis and June Van Dyke.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 29th, 2011 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Nancy Harris-Ott officiating.
