E. Milam
November 30, 1957 – January 23, 2025
Phillipsburg resident, Lelia "Legi" E. Milam was born November 30, 1957 in Val Verde, TX the daughter of Francis Gunter. She passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg at the age of 67.
She grew up and attended schools in Hernando, MS and went on to graduate from the Northwest Mississippi Community College. Legi went to work in Memphis Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She also worked for the Emergency Medical Services in and around Memphis. In the late 90's she relocated to Phillipsburg, KS where she was closer to family.
She cherished watching cartoons, joyfully singing along to her favorite tunes, and immersing herself in music. She painted and colored with passion, and took loving care of her cherished dog, Max.
She was preceded in death by her sister Shelby Lynn Hale and her beloved dog Max.
Survivors include her daughter Leslie Weber and husband Greg of Stafford, VA; son Tom Townsdin and wife Anke of Ft. Stewart, GA; mother Francis Townsdin of Lawrence, KS; brother David Williamson and wife Susan of Linden, CA; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; aunt & uncle Richard and Paula Gunter of Eads, TN; 6 nieces; 1 nephew; and 3 great nephews.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25th, 2025 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Randy Elder officiating. The services will be streamed on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page. Inurnment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
