Obituary
Lenora Ellen (Robinson) Hansen was born near Hazelton, Kansas on October 26, 1924, the daughter of Joseph & Elsie (Webb) Robinson. She passed away July 16, 2018 at the Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas at the age of 93.
When Lenora was 3½ years old she moved with her parents to Smith County. She attended the Buck Creek School and Barefoot Nation School during her elementary years and then Lebanon High School for part of her Freshman year.
On October 7, 1942, she was united in marriage to Earl L. Hansen in Smith Center, Kansas. To this union five children were born: Sharon Kay, Lavern, Earl, Jr., Lois and Joe. In 1946 the family moved to a farm 6½ miles north of Lenora, Kansas where they made their home and raised their children.
The couple retired in 1985 and moved to Norton, Kansas. Earl passed away at the Omaha Clarks Hospital on November 21, 1995.
Lenora was a devoted farm wife & mother who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Joe; son-in-law, Larry Bourelle; grandson, Jeff D. Bourelle; brothers, Raymond and Warren Robinson; and sisters, Reva White and Violet Clark.
Survivors include her children: Sharon Bourelle of Stromsburg, NE; Lavern "Lee" & Donna Hansen of Hays, KS; Earl, Jr. & Barbara Hansen of Norton, KS; and Lois & Leslie Ellis of Lebanon, KS; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Joan Rathburn of Smith Center, KS; sisters-in-law, Phillene Weets of Rapid City, SD and Ethel Hansen of Mesquite, NV; many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 20, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. in the Norton Christian Church, Norton, KS with Pastor Leslie Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in the Norton Cemetery.
Mrs. Hansen will lie in-state on Thursday, July 19, from noon – 9 p.m. at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.
Memorials may be given to the Norton Senior Citizen Center.
