Obituary

On Friday, December 19, 2025, Leona (Clow) Fink passed away at the age of 96, at Logan Manor Community, in Logan, Kansas.

Leona was born on August 28, 1929, to Alfred Ross and Myrte Perlina (O'Connor) Clow as the youngest of six children. She was raised on a farm a few miles South of Waldo, Kansas. Leona's mother passed away when she was eight months old. She always said her dad, brother and sisters drug her up. They drug her wherever they needed to go.

Leona married Jack Fink in Russell, Kansas on June 3, 1941. This union was blessed with two sons Dennis and James, and two daughters, Jackie and Rita.

Leona helped Jack milk cows on the farm outside of Paradise. They moved into town in 1966. Leona worked at Hoisington's Grocery Warehouse for many years before working at Klema's IGA. In October 1972, the family moved to Lincoln, Kansas where she worked at different businesses over the years. Leona retired in January 2001, and moved to Phillipsburg. She kept busy playing cards, going to grandkids and great grandkids events, and traveling to see other family. In April 2021, Leona was moved into Logan Manor Community.

She enjoyed many years being a 4-H leader for the Paradise Dell 4-H club in Russell County. There are good and bad memories of the week before fair and working on record books.

Over the years, the family would slow down their busy lives and eat together every Sunday. Fried chicken was a regular item on the menu. Leona could fry chicken like no other.

She loved feeding her birds, always looking for the cardinals. She thought they brought comfort and hope from her loved ones. She received so many cardinals as gifts; she lived among them.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband Jack, parents Alfred and Myrtle, brother Harry, and sisters Alberta, Bernice, Thelma, and Wilma.

She is survived by her children Dennis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jackie Wenger and husband Dennis of Powhattan, Kansas, Jim Fink and wife Lynne of Hugoton, Kansas, and Rita Meili and husband Larry of Phillipsburg, Kansas. She had eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and two great great granddaughters that call her Onie, Grams, or Grammy. Survivors also include many nieces, nephews, her Logan Manor Family, and many friends.

A funeral service for Leona will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, in Phillipsburg, Kansas, with Pastor Jay Brandon officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m., at the Lincoln Cemetery, in Lincoln, Kansas.

Leona will lie in state on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Monday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and later Monday afternoon from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends for a visitation Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel in Phillipsburg, Kansas.
