Phillipsburg resident, Leonard L. Ford, 94, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg.

He was born May 30, 1921 in Hoisington, KS the son of Leonard & Rose (Pizinger) Ford.

He was united in marriage to Gloria J. Peterson on September 9, 1944 in Miami, FL. Together they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. She preceded him in death this past April 24, 2015.

Survivors include his daughter, Sheila Bills & husband, Gary of Phillipsburg; granddaughter, Shari Wickham & husband, William of Houston, TX; Grandson, Chris Lallman of Phillipsburg; 2 great granddaughters, Jaci Wickham of Tyler TX and Lexi Wickham of Houston, TX; a brother, Richard Ford & wife, Mary of Jetmore, KS; and several nieces and nephews.

Leonard was a veteran, serving in the United States Air Force as a Pilot during WWII and for many years after. Following his honorable discharge he owned several New Car Dealerships, the last being in Phillipsburg until his retirement.

Cremation was selected for both Leonard and Gloria. A memorial service for both will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the United Presbyterian Church, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Chris Davis officiating. Inurnment will be in the Orleans Cemetery, Orleans, Nebraska.

Friends may sign book from Noon until 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
