Former Logan resident, Leonard Wayne Wallgren, 82 of Sun City, Arizona, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2010 at his home in the company of his wife, Zelda.
He was born on January 12, 1928, to Roy & Ida (Seigrist) Wallgren. He attended school in Logan. Leonard and Zelda Bushnell were married on June 5, 1948. They farmed and ranched outside of Logan. Thereafter, he marketed and applied sealants for the American Lubricants Company through his company, Wallgren Construction in Logan, until moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he lived and worked for many years before retiring in Sun City, Arizona.
Always affable, Leonard was a natural salesman with a quick wit, a warm smile and an endless array of colorful jokes. Leonard loved fishing, playing cards, telling stories to his friends, and traveling with his wife and co-workers. His family and friends loved him dearly and will always miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Pauline, Mary, Faith & Lola; infant daughter, Karolyn Kay; mother-in-law, Blanche Westenhaver; and brother-in-law, Dee Bushnell.
He is survived by his wife, Zelda; daughter, Maria, her husband, Kent and their son, Eric and his son Justin of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Elsie; brother-in-law, Bill Bushnell; and many nieces, nephews; cousins & friends.
Cremation was planned. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 28th, 2010 in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Logan, KS, with Pastor Joel Hiesterman officiating.
