Obituary

Aloysius Walton Lloyd Becker was born April 12, 1926 on the farm, 5 miles northwest of Logan to Charles (Bert) Albert & Rose Teresa (Zink) Becker.  He passed away on September 4, 2022 at the Logan Manor in Logan, KS at the age of 96.

At the age of 6 months, his folks moved to the home place that was homesteaded by Lloyd's grandpa Charles Albert Becker.  After high school, Lloyd owned and operated a filling station in Logan.  He later worked for his brother-in-law in Hoxie and in a mechanics shop for the Schlageck brothers.

On June 25, 1949, Lloyd was united in marriage to Deloris Hickman at St. John Catholic Church in Logan.  To this union, 5 children were born.  The couple moved back to the home place where Lloyd farmed.  He enjoyed remodeling the home place and taking care of his Charolaise Bull, Sam.  Lloyd loved his family, his faith, and the farm.  He served on the COOP board and the school board.  Lloyd drove the Logan school bus for many years.   He was a faithful member of St. John Catholic Church and belonged to the 3 rd and 4 th Degree Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother and sister-in-law Charles Jr. and LaVeta Becker; sister and brother-in-law Florence and Bert Schlageck; brother-in-law Harold Schiltz; and his great grandsons Jonathan Brice and Carson Brice Becker.

Survivors include his wife Deloris of the home in Logan; his son Darren and wife Dorothy of Logan; daughters Rainell Voss and husband Louis of Logan, Linette Smith and husband Roger of Wilsonville, NE, Jeanine White and husband Randy of New Cambria, KS, and Sherri Smith and husband Cal of Salina, KS; his sister Edna Schiltz of Selden, KS; 14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Sept. 9 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. John Catholic Church, Logan, With Father John Schmeidler officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery.

A Rosary Service will be held Thursday, Sept. 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Logan Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 Wed. & 12:00 to 9:00 Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus.
