Obituary
Phillips County resident, Lois Groom, 88, died Monday March 7, 2011 at the Phillips County Hospital, Phillipsburg.
She was born June 29, 1922 at Kirwin, Kansas the daughter of George & Hazel (Smith) Lemon. She was an accountant & office manager at Tamko Asphalt Products in Phillipsburg for 29 years until her retirement in 1989.
She was united in marriage on May 31, 1942 in Phillipsburg to Wayne E. Groom. He survives.
Other survivors include her daughter, Dawn R. Wollard and a granddaughter, Bethany L. Wollard, both of Phillipsburg.
Cremation was planned. A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Joel Hiesterman officiating.
A graveside and inurnment service will be held for Wayne & Lois Groom on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Phillips County, KS with Pastor Joel Hiesterman officiating.
Memorial contributions may be to the Kansas Wildlife Fund.
