Lois Marie Shearer was born on April 26, 1947 in Muskogee, OK to the Baxter family. She passed on April 26, 2021 at Franklin, NE at the age of 74 years.

Lois gave birth to two children, Bart and Cindy.

She married Eldon Leon Shearer in Wichita, KS in 1998. She was working at a cafe. In 2001 they moved to Phillipsburg, KS. Lois then worked with the Helping Hand Agency out of Hill City, KS, providing home health care for folks.

They then moved to Alma NE in 2010 and Beaver City, NE in 2016. Lois and Eldon became residents at the Arbor Care Center in Franklin, NE in November of 2019 where she lived until her death.

In her younger days Lois enjoyed going to flea-markets to shop for treasures. She also liked to garden, raising tomatoes and working in the yard. She was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and attended the Franklin First United Methodist Church when she first settled in Franklin.

Survivors include her husband Eldon of Franklin, NE; son Bart Gates of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a daughter Cindy Palmer; four brother's-in-law Dean of Almena, Roger of Logan, Gerald of Garden City, and Lonnie of Almena; sister-in-law Doris Linden of Norton; two grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

Cremation was planned.  A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor Philip Sloat officiating.
